Our Mission & Vision
The mission of Journey Church Corpus Christi is to love God, to love others, and to magnify the name of Jesus Christ. We are a diverse body of believers, seeking to establish genuine community relationships, while advancing the Kingdom of God through evangelism, empowerment and life transformation.
Leadership Team:
Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.
Senior Pastors Dean & Jane Bearden
Pastors Dean & Jane met at Church on the Rock, in Corpus Christi, TX. They married 17 years ago and have 2 sons, Matthew & Grayson.
Dean & Jane started Journey Church in July 2007, after seeking the counsel of God and spending time in prayer meetings at their home, with a small group of fellow believers. Dean graduated from Calallen High School and carries a love and commitment for this area. Jane traveled and sang with her family for 25 years. It is rare that someone doesn’t know who the Cruse Family is. Dean is bi-vocational, he is a pastor and he also owns & operates Bearden Homes Inc. Jane’s roles include wife, mother and worship leader. “Life’s a Journey, we’re not here to see through you, but to help see you through” is their heart’s cry for the church.
JC3 Youth Pastors Josh & JoAnn Garza
Josh and JoAnn Garza married in 2007 and moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to attend Rhema Bible Training Center. They graduated in 2009, both focusing in Pastoral Ministry. They teamed up with Journey Church in October 2010 and became the youth pastors of JC3 Youth in April 2011. Pastor Josh is also bi-vocational and works at OxyChem in Ingleside. They have a passion to show God’s love and grace to today’s youth while imparting to them a greater desire to know Him more.
Josh & JoAnn became the proud parents of their first child, Samuel on January 21, 2011.
